After a thorough review of your dental records, our dentist will conduct a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums and other oral tissues. This process allows our dentist to assess the current state of your oral health, looking for signs of decay and disease. Following the exam, you will receive a thorough teeth cleaning to elminate any plaque or tartar buildup from the teeth and gums and to prepare your mouth for x-rays.
At the conclusion of your exam and cleaning, our dentist will take x-rays of your mouth. These images are used to detect cavities within or in between the teeth, as well as problems with your bone structure. At Smiles at Hunters Creek, we use digital x-rays to ensure a more efficient, safe and accurate imaging process.
When your exam, cleaning and x-rays are complete, our dentist will discuss the results with you. You will be informed of any issues identified, such as cavities or gum disease, and our dentist will review your treamtent options with you. Together you'll select a course of treatment, after which you'll receive the total cost of the procedure(s). Our dental staff can review various payment options and plans with you to ensure these necessary treatments align with your budget. If you have dental insurance, we can also help you communicate with them to find out how much, if any, of the cost of the procedure your plan covers.
The next step is scheduling your follow-up appointments. If you need additional treatments, we'll schedule those appointments in the coming weeks. If our dentist said you were cavity- and gum disease-free, we recommend scheduling your next teeth cleaning and exam six months from now. Getting a checkup and cleaning every six months is highly recommended to maintain optimum oral health.
If you have questions about your upcoming new patient appointment at Smiles at Hunters Creek, please call our office at 407-745-4188 and our friendly team will be happy to assist you.
